Title I

Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), most recently reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Since it's inception, the intent of the law has been to raise achievement for low-income and otherwise disadvantaged children.

MCSCS operates a Schoolwide Title I Program that supports the overall achievement of our students through supplemental instruction, activities to support career and college planning, and professional development for staff based on student needs.

As part of our work to continuously improve parent engagement and involve our parents in the development of policies and procedures, please take some time to review our Parent Involvement Policy and Parent-School Compact drafts. Please contact Ms. Joyner at info@mcscs.org with any feedback or suggestions you may have regarding these documents.

Also, please read the Right-to-Know Parent Letter informing you of your rights to request information regarding the certifications and experiences of your child's teachers.
